Start of season Groundsman course
There were not enough applications to attend, so the course has been cancelled. An end of season course will be organised.
Umpiring courses
One course has already started. Others are due to start at Cirencester (starting 28 March) and Lydney (starting 11 April). These lead to the ECB Level 1 qualification. Details are available on our play-cricket website. The League will pay 50% of the fee for successful candidates.
League Development Plan
The draft of the plan is nearly complete and you have seen the outline proposals for League restructuring. The draft plan covers League Structure, Facilities and Playing Regulations and it will shortly be circulated to clubs for feedback and then for the first set of rule changes to be worked up via the Divisional Meetings in September.
Spring General Meeting
You will be delighted to hear that your committee has decided to call off the SGM – there was no substantive business to be done except collection of balls, handbooks etc. So the arrangements are that you must simply send someone to Hatherley and Reddings Cricket Club (main site) between 7 and 8 pm on Thursday April 15th to collect your club’s package of balls etc.
Invoice for monies due
The treasurer will be sending out invoices for monies due – this will be for dinner tickets that you haven’t yet paid for and an extra set of balls for teams in Divisions 2-4. Being one team short in Division 9 means these teams won’t need all 9 they have already paid for but, instead of giving you fewer and refunding, we will credit you at the end of the season for unused balls. This “return and refund” facility will be available for teams in all divisions, so you can choose whether to use up your unused stock on non-league games, or claim the credit.
Mailings from outside (GCB etc.)
We are putting all these mailings as “news items” on our play-cricket web site http://gloucestershireccl.play-cricket.com/home/home.asp, so you can always find them there and they don’t clog up your in-box. At this moment there are items on:
- CASC and Gift Aid for sports clubs
- Young Players in Open Age Cricket
- Umpiring Courses
- Cricket Club Insurance
